Belle French is a character on ABC's Once Upon a Time. She was Rumplestiltskin's maid, with whom Rumplestiltskin fell in love with.

Background[]
Belle serves as Rumplestiltskin's maid, and eventually sees the man behind the beast, although Rumplestiltskin decides to free her from his service, choosing power over love. However, instead of being free, Belle almost immediately gets captured again, this time by Queen Regina. She is locked in a tower, and after the Queen's defeat at the hands of Snow White and Prince David, they are seemingly ignorant of the fact that Belle is still a prisoner in the Queen's palace, and Belle ends up starving to death.
Season 6[]
Rumplestiltskin goes to the palace and checks on Belle, only to find her remains, which he then shows to Regina, seeking retribution for his true love's demise.

Trivia[]
- In reality, Belle reunited with Rumplestiltskin after the Dark Curse broke. They got married, had a son named Gideon, and travelled until they reached the Edge of Realms where Belle lived out the rest of her days in peace.
